... an endless summer, autumn will officially start on the 21st of October. We thoroughly enjoyed the tropical temperatures. But to be honest, we are also looking forward to snuggling up to the fireplace and enjoying a walk in the woods. With the autumn break just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to share our autumn tips!
Say hi to autumn!
After what seemed like...
These boots are made for walking
When you think about autumn, the first things that come to mind are orange colored leaves falling from the trees, acorns and chestnuts and an afternoon pancake in the woods. We are a great fan nature and our favorite places to take a long walk are:
- The Amsterdam Forest: Thé place to be for lovers of all that blossoms! This forest, with thousands of trees, is 3 times the size of Central Park (NYC) and offers enough places to have a coffee or a bite to eat.
- The Vuursche: This woodland near Lage Vuursche is a real oasis of tranquility. Hikers, cyclists and riders come here for the nature, peace and quiet and many terraces in the area.
- Speulder- and Spriedler: One of the oldest forests of the Netherlands can be found in Ermelo. According to Staatsbosbeheer, the Dutch forest management agency, this is the most beautiful forest of the country and we certainly understand why!
Life's a pumpkin party!
A few years ago, Halloween was still fairly unknown in Europe. But now we are organizing Halloween fancy dress parties and pumpkin lanterns can be found in nearly every garden. To stick with the theme, what about a hearty pumpkin soup after a long day spent outside! Our favorite? This spicy pumpkinsoep.
